real tough, unless you go back to school to get an engineering degree.
There are so many people who went from engineering to Business.
The engineering field usually requires experience with engineering. Most people start getting that in college. If you have none, I don't see anyone "giving you the chance" because they can get a college grad which is a much lower risk for messing up the job.
If you want to do it, go back to school and come out with a technical degree AND and Business Administration degree.. that will get you a job.

I say NO and this is why. I attended a Job fair at my University with my husband. He spoke to Lockheed and Martin. THEY said, if you want to get into the business side of engineering, you are better off studying in Engineering because there will be times you are going to do things hands on. Look at drawings, calculations and perhaps modify a piece that was designed for a machine. The business side will come naturally. As for the technology part, well, its too broad because you'll need to have an understanding of todays technology and how it works. I am not saying your degree did not supply you with the know how for this, but for the technology side, I have talked to people in which they have a general degree in the sciences and that helped them. Why? Because again, you know how things work. If you are good at understanding the business aspect of the field, YOU WILL need to understand and KNOW the technology side of the profession. You are much better off getting an MBA or concentrate on jobs that target the management side for ex. retail, non profit organization....
