If it's required by MS then you need to take them. I work as a tech for a shipping company ( what can brown do....) and all techs had to become A+ certified by Comp TIA . Now we have to get Net+ certification. A+ became the industry standard for techs quite some time ago. It's recognition that the person knows what he or she is doing, like a licensed electrician. Having a B.S. is good, just think of the A+ and Net+ as icing on the cake.
