There are many to choose from. My cousin works in the computer field in network security. It's his job to stop hackers and other types of infiltration from gaining access to the network. I don't remember what the position is called tho. There is also software development, PC repair, network administration, and the list goes on and on and on and on. One thing you need to be aware of is the every growing problem of companies outsourcing more and more computer jobs to overseas.

If you really want to pursue a computer career you need to figure out what you want to specialize in and study it. In the meantime if you have the skills and experience try to get hired by a PC repair company as repair technician. I'm not sure how the pay is but many of the more advanced computer jobs can build on the skills learned as a PC technician. If you like building your own computers you might enjoy being a PC technician. btw...if you're interested in software development you can download Microsoft Visual Studio Express for free. You'll learn programming skills and will quickly discover whether or not you want to go into software development.

I've always had a passion for computers too, ever since 1st grade when I used a Texas Instruments computer in math class. This was back in 1981 or 82...long time ago and long before computers were common in the home. The first family computer had Win 3.1. It needed an upgrade so my parents took it to a shop. Got the computer home, fired it up, and smoke poured out the front panel because the technician miswired the front panel causing a short. Rather than take the computer back I took it upon myself to fix it. Since then I've never taken another computer to the shop because I decided to learn to fix them myself. My skills have grown ALOT since then allowing me to build the computer I'm using right now as well as serve as the general computer guru for my former employer who had no IT Dept.
