Is a career in biotechnology more beneficial than that in dentistry?

I'd say so, especially since most work in biotechnology seeks to establish new cutting-edge techniques in fields such as agriculture and medicine. I feel if you were developing a type of rice that is more tolerant in drought resistant condition (i.e. Africa) to help starving people, than that's pretty beneficial.

Yes it is , I started some years ago a biotech company that made a plant that can find landmines ( the plant will change colour from green to red ) and if you would make plants that can grow under harsh conditions ( desert ) drought you would make a very big impact , also you could try to make plants that can grow on salt water , so we could have fields of crops on the ocean .
