Well, I have a Bachelors in CIS and was laid off last april and can't even find a help desk position. But if you enjoy the programming side and can find internships in .net you should have a far better time finding employment. I focused more on hardware/server/support positions and it's a tough market out there right now for employment as there are those with 15+ years experience taking lesser jobs for less money and making it far harder to get a job.
Once the economy turns around it will be back in demand. And if you can get into .Net programming you will be more than fine in finding a job. Now, if only I enjoyed the programming more and could find entry level work to brush up on it and to get back to being an expert.
